Phu Tai Inaugurates Its Third Wood Pellet Plant, Bringing Total Capacity to 300,000 Metric Tons Per Year

On July 22, 2026, Phu Tai Joint Stock Company officially inaugurated its new wood pellet production plant in Lam Dien Village, Tu Bong Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province—the Group’s third wood pellet plant, following the two already in operation in Phu Cat and An Khe, Gia Lai Province. With this addition, Phu Tai’s total wood pellet production capacity has reached 300,000 metric tons per year.

Third Production Facility, Expanding Its Operational Footprint

The plant in Khanh Hoa covers an area of approximately 45,807.6 m² and is designed with two production lines: wood pellets for export with a design capacity of 90,000 metric tons per year, and a finished sawn timber production line with a capacity of approximately 12,000 cubic meters per year.

Combined with the two existing plants in Phu Cat (90,000 metric tons per year) and An Khe (120,000 metric tons per year), the commissioning of the Khanh Hoa plant brings Phu Tai’s total wood pellet production network to three operational facilities with a combined capacity of 300,000 metric tons per year—a significant step in the phased expansion plan, aiming for the long-term goal of reaching 1,000,000 metric tons per year across multiple plants.

Expanding the Geographic Scope Within the Country

Establishing a production facility in Khanh Hoa, in addition to its existing plants in Gia Lai, provides Phu Tai with a broader geographic base for sourcing raw materials and organizing logistics—supporting the Group’s long-term strategy to serve the markets of Japan, South Korea, and Europe through a multi-site production network, rather than relying on a single source of supply.

Convenient Location Near a Developing Seaport Infrastructure

The plant is located in Van Ninh District, near the Van Phong Bay port complex—a deep-water port area that Khanh Hoa Province is actively investing in to develop for industrial goods and bulk cargo. Nam Van Phong Port currently handles wood chips as one of its key export commodities, along with general cargo and bulk cargo, and has the capacity to accommodate ships with a deadweight tonnage of up to 70,000 DWT. Bac Van Phong Port, also located in Van Ninh District, is designated in the national seaport development master plan as a potential large-scale international transshipment hub.

For wood pellets, the proximity to port infrastructure specifically designed for this type of cargo is a significant logistical advantage as Phu Tai expands its export volume from this facility.

The Familiar Closed-Loop Production Model

The two production lines at the Khanh Hoa plant—sawn timber and wood pellets—follow the same closed-loop model that Phu Tai has implemented at its plants in Gia Lai: byproducts from the wood processing operation serve as raw materials for pellet production, rather than being treated as waste that requires separate disposal.

About Phú Tài’s Biomass Energy Division

The launch of the third plant strengthens Phu Tai’s position in the two areas most important to its industrial partners: production capacity and the ability to ensure a stable supply. A multi-plant network reduces reliance on a single production facility, supporting better long-term order fulfillment.
